Space To Bloom
Each category in our Poetry Journal is grounded in a flower or healing plant native to Nigeria honoring the land my ancestors blossomed from and the heritage that shapes who I am. Though my lineage was interrupted through enslavement, DNA revealed a piece of my origin still alive within me: I am 40% Nigerian.
These plants carry symbolism, protection, resilience, and memory. They remind us that even when history tries to sever our roots we still grow.
Each poem or reflection featured in our poetry Journal will include the image of its category's flower at the top a visual symbol of emotion.
